Items needed: 5 oz Real Smoothness unrefined Shea Butter
3 Tables spoons extra virgin olive oil
5-10 drops of Real Smoothness Lavender oil
1 double boiler or satinless steel bowl and pot
Directions: Place double boiler with water or stainless bowl over pot of water on heated stove. Place shea butter in top bowl. Allow unrefined shea butter to melt. Next add olive oil and Lavender oil. Remove from heat and place the top bowl with the ingredients in the freezer about 10 minutes . When partly soildfied, remove from freezer. Use the hand mixer to whip the mixer about 5 minutes or so until a creamy mixture developes. Tranfer to your favorite glass container.
The are several ways to use shea butter when making homemade soaps. If you want your soap to have fluffy lather, it’s recommended that you use shea butter at 3 – 5 percent of your entire recipe. Because shea butter has up to 11% of unsaponifiables, you don’t really have to use all that much in your recipe to make sure you get the benefits.
An important thing to consider is that shea butter is very sensitive to heat. So if you heat it wrong it will get grainy, no matter what product you use it in. “From Nature With Love” has a whole article on avoiding crystallization and graininess when melting shea butter and other vegetable butters. These soaps could last about two years with the proper storage. Keep in mind to prolong the shelf life of your Shea butter soaps after following the recipe, store the soaps in a cool place.

There is no “maximum” amount of shea butter you can use — but just like with any other butters, oils or additives, you have to keep in mind how your ingredients properties may affect the overall outcome of your soap. Grate one carrot and mix it with a spoonful of honey. Apply this mixture on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. By using it regularly you will make out the difference.

For carrot skin mask you need raw carrots and lemon juice. Grate the carrot and add some lemon juice and apply this mixture on your face and neck. You can do the same with cooked carrots by blending them and adding 5 tbsp honey or yogurt. Apply it and leave it for 15-20 minutes.
By mixing pineapple and carrot juice you can make a fine blend for glowing skin. Apply this mixture on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it and pat it dry.

This unrefined shea butter cream for acne enriched with Lavender and Lemongrass essential oils could help in acne treatment. You can try with other essentials oils believed to be good for acne, but do not put any other butter or base (carrier) oil.
What do you need
2 oz. unrefined Shea butter
- 15 drops Lavender essential oil
- 10 drops Lemongrass essential oil
- 2 oz. or bigger empty clean jar
You don’t have to melt shea butter at all and this is method i prefer. Make sure unrefined shea butter is on a room temperature before you start. Mash it with a fork and add essential oils. Mash it again a little bit. Mix it with a hand mixer for few minutes and you are done!
Alternatively, you can do the same cream using following method. Melt unrefined shea butter on the steam using double pot. Put it out of the steam and let it cool down a little bit. Add Lavender and Lemongrass essential oils and mix it. Put it in a clean jar and let it cool down on the room temperature.
